An initiative that residents ofe the United States might want to support is the Captive Primate Safety Act. The goal of the act is to make owning primates as pets illegal. Sanctuaries, zoos, and research institutions are excluded. It was introduced by Representative Earl Blumenauer, Representative Brian Fitzpatrick, and Senator Richard Blumenthal.
