Remote Job Opportunity (within East Africa) @Hatch Blue
Hatch Blue is looking for someone to join the team and lead a special project: Women in Ocean Food Africa is kicking off soon, and the team needs a Community Manager to lead the charge on the ground. This role is all about connecting, building, and amplifying women-led businesses across Africa’s Ocean Food economy.
It’s a 12-month contract (with the goal to extend), remote within East Africa, with a preference for Kenya or Tanzania. The right person will have a passion for entrepreneurship, gender equity, and the blue economy.
*Hatch Blue is an aquaculture accelerator supporting start-ups in the fields of aquaculture feed, health, genetics, tech and production. The idea for Hatch was conceived in late 2017 by co-founders Carsten Krome, Georg Baunach and Wayne Murphy. Their vision is to achieve the least-possible footprint of farmed and alternative seafood for the benefit of the oceans, terrestrial ecosystems and future generations.*

Since July 2025, I have been serving as the Community Advocates Coordinator at WildHub, where I coordinate initiatives to engage, support, and empower our community advocates in advancing WH’s mission.
Beyond WildHub, I wear a few different hats. I work as a researcher and lecturer in Sweden, teaching courses on environmental law, political and historical ecology, and disaster risk management. I also mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students, collaborate with faculty members, and contribute to ongoing research projects.
I’m passionate about giving back through volunteer work. I support a few conservation and animal welfare organisations with research and advocacy to help drive positive change. When I’m not working, you’ll find me hiking forest trails with my dog or enjoying a good cup of coffee.
