I am a wildlife ecologist with a background in ecology, psychology, and conservation biology. I have over a decade of experience supporting biodiversity conservation in various contexts working across the ecological and social sciences in India and Liberia (West Africa). My strengths include designing and implementing biodiversity monitoring programmes, stakeholder engagement, transboundary conservation, community-based natural resource management, strategic communication, proposal development, fundraising, grant management, project coordination, capacity building, and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems. In addition, I have supported the implementation of conservation interventions focused on protected area management, OneHealth, policy development and sustainable livelihood. My research interest is working at the intersection of conservation science and policy development to balance developmental and environmental objectives within a sustainable development framework.

Jannatun Nayeem Nowshin is an architect and researcher with professional experience across multiple scales, humanitarian approaches around the world such as France, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Uruguay. Through her practice and research, she aspires to shape the communities by creating waves of positive changes. With her graduation project, she was exceptionally ambitious about making a difference through architecture on the marine biodiversity of Bangladesh which ended up receiving a couple of awards and an Honorary Laureate Diploma from the International Academy of Architecture, ECOSOC, United Nations. She was the gold winner from Bangladesh in Asia Young Designer Award 2019 which allowed her to represent Bangladesh in the grand finale in Vietnam, 2020. She was also the winner of students' diploma projects in the International Architecture Exhibition-Competition by Interarch in Bulgaria, 2020. Along with her professional career, she participated in several international competitions and got recognized in a handful of them. Meanwhile, she also worked on some research publications addressing a few climatic issues with environmentally beneficial solutions. She is an enthusiastic individual working with international non-profit organizations in co-creating a comprehensive multicultural education that promotes a culture of peace and solidarity, transforming education worldwide.

I currently work in the Corporate sector but am looking to make the change and am working towards a career change, particularly focusing on wildlife conservation. Alongside my trustee role at Helping Rhinos I have recently completed a Masters in NGO Management with a specialism in Grant Making & Philanthropy. Now I'm qualified I'm looking to expand my network alongside completing some Wildlife Conservation specific training.

I am excited to have joined the Wild Hub platform as it provides a platform for me to engage with like-minded individuals who are passionate about environmental conservation. As a final year student at African Leadership University, majoring in Global Challenges with a focus on environmental conservation, I am committed to ensuring the protection of endangered plant species and the promotion of sustainable conservation practices. My interest in environmental conservation has led me to work on various research projects, including assessing the impacts of exotic plant species on the ecology of one of the National Parks in Rwanda. Through this project, I was able to gain insights into the complexities involved in managing invasive species and the need for a sustainable approach to conservation. I also had the privilege of working on pre-impact assessments for the expansion of Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. This experience allowed me to understand the importance of incorporating the perspectives of local communities in conservation initiatives. Recently, I worked on a project with the Capitals Coalition on sustainable and impact analysis, where I was involved in a case study. This experience enabled me to develop a deeper understanding of the need to integrate economic, social, and environmental considerations in conservation efforts. Additionally, I had the opportunity to work with the National Geographic Society and he Nature Conservancy on a freshwater and community conservation externship. This experience allowed me to gain valuable insights into the complexities of freshwater management and the importance of engaging with local communities in conservation efforts.
