About Michael Cunningham

I love swimming in the rivers & sea, climbing mountains and walking all over the UK. Scuba diving, snowboarding and novice surfer. I love a pint and relaxing in the park when I see mates in the city. Growing up on the banks of the Wye I currently live rurally looking for the 'good life' Eco Sustainable living. I am hoping to help build my home, maybe my own log cabin! I enjoy networking and am an effective communicator, advocate and educationalist. Past experience, conducting business meetings & community engagement, have honed my skills in management of staff and volunteers. I have a diverse skill set. I am adept at statistical analysis, SPSS & GIS, management plans, report writing & scientific valuation of research. At this pivotal point in the earths future I have set up a grass roots organisation as I am passionate about making a change. Having worked in business, not for profit organisations, governmental partnerships, charities, practical conservation and humanitarian volunteering I feel I have a wealth of experience to help over the coming years. Both part time and freelance options appeal to me. I take pride in my continued professional and personal development, from amphibian ID, food safety to first aid & scuba diving. From my work with the RSPB in Primary schools, teenagers for the Devon Youth Service, to leading a team of youth in Nepal to volunteers in train carriage restoration shows I am effective all round communicator / enthuser. I have conducted business in many forms, I feel I have much to offer, using my initiative and positive dedication. Please see my linked in profile which shows how involved I was in Arts, Tourism, government and Business.

Wow, amazing story! I hope you manage to reach your dreams and well done for taking the plunge. There was actually a post here asking for peoples advice on an MSc on ways to educate people. I will try and find it for you.

Excellent! I am so glad I have finally found somewhere like this!

I will share it far and wide!

This is an excellent resource, We will have to start doing this as Regional reps come on board and we start to repeat ourselves, as we seem to do to landowners and potential partners.

Is there and easy way to make a kind of 'shareable document list' for resources like this, a kind of 'how to...' of conservation best practice, or help and support?

Looking forward to reading post two at a more sociable hour with our team!

These sound lovely! I will take a look at the website and have a few friends with children and we would love to see if you have found an easy way of communication that planting one tree is not enough... Every adult should have a woodland, and we are on the path to doing it! I wonder if you could do a blog for us and we can share your work with our readership?

Inspiring! Well done!

Great intro!

I hope you get your ideal role! and find a wonderful life balance.

I would love to know more languages, I can get by in a few, as always try to learn to a conversational level wherever I travel.

It's great to meet people through the Intros! hope one day to meet you but I am very based and rooted in the UK. I would love to come to Costa Rica.

I have been to Guatemala and Honduras and started my love and possible career diving on Utila, a wonderful Caribbean island! I am now a Padi Rescue Diver.

I really enjoyed this today, but didn't reply earlier as I realised I was suddenly doing work-related surfing on a sat before friends came!

Work space sorted, Scheduling and planning through HUBSPOT CRM, tasks and meeting organiser. We also ensure we have a written task list by 10am after a zoom call from about 9am.

I loved the bit about morning check-ins and also will take on board the Monday mornings motivation, I am unsure whether I am or have a large enough team to do a zoom video or message but I think me and my other director will try this. I will definitely try this!  we always ask how we have been as we are friends firstly.

I love the outdoors and definitely get out for 1hr in the day, usually 30 mins at lunch and 15 mins at breaks in the day!

I also read PositiveNews!

I look forward to hearing more.

Thank you!

This is really interesting, would be great for minute taking also.

I am going to try this but am also looking for other free to use options.

Please let me know if you have found a great app for this.

I hope more people with experience of this comment and we find the perfect solution.

Lovely to see your work and wishing you all the best for the future and running things from back here in the UK.

I was in Indonesia with Blue Ventures for an expedition, educating locals and surveying Coral and Fish species off the shores of a small island; Atauro in the coral triangle near Timor-leste in Indonesia.

I have visited much of Indonesia there is so much of the world to see however I fear I may never go to Northern Sulawesi due to my commitment to not flying unless for a very important conservation reason.

Following you and hope we can connect on linkedIn also!
