I'm trying to help environmental nonprofits manage risks and prepare for the future.
Hello! Nessie here. I am Director of the Global Diversity Foundation and an Associate Fellow at St Ethelburga’s Centre for Peace and Reconciliation. I live on an organic farm in West Wales and I am a Spiritual Ecologist with a focus on agroecology, food sovereignty, health and land connection within both the UK and abroad. I've worked in Indonesia, India, Japan and within Europe on local and Indigenous communities’ rights to land for growing food, as well as the preservation of traditional artistic and cultural practices. I created The Milking Parlour: an ongoing artistic discourse and set of performances and talks exploring our human relationship to food and agriculture’s impact on biodiversity and climate change. Through this, I explores the theme of food as a sacred act and ‘Art-vocacy’: the power of art for shifting perceptions around climate change and behaviour.

Hello! I am a wildlife ecologist with 20 years of experience and have worked as a field biologist and research scientist on projects in Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Over the past decade, I coordinated university courses, presented lectures, organised fieldtrips and supervised student projects at undergraduate and post-graduate level in my former capacity as university lecturer.
Between 2006 and 2020, I managed a captive breed-for-release programme for a native New Zealand lizard (Duvaucel’s gecko) and led five conservation translocations involving this species. I work closely with GOs and NGOs to integrate conservation research with wildlife management practice.
I am currently taking a deliberate career break to explore my creative interests, pursue personal projects, advance my skillsets and connect with inspiring people.
I continue to support local biodiversity restoration initiatives in Auckland/ New Zealand by coordinating and implementing a wildlife monitoring programme spanning several re-introduced Duvaucel’s gecko populations.
