Hi, everyone! I am Marsya Sibarani, Research and Data Management Officer at the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Indonesia Program. I have been working here for about two years and am based in Lampung, southern Sumatra. My work mainly consists of analysing data from our biodiversity surveys (yes, I use R a lot) and giving trainings for national park and partner NGOs staff.

Although my work is mainly about terrestrial flagship species of Sumatra (tigers, elephants, and rhinos), my spirit animal is the siamang (Symphalangus syndactylus). My best experience in the forest was when the first time I saw them duetting in their natural habitat!

Other than doing a lot of statistics and modelling, I also love creating wildlife illustrations in my spare time.

Hey Marsya, gibbons are also my spirit animal and I love that we have that in common! Siamang song is most definitely the most magical sound this Earth has to offer :)
