MENCERTC is a community youth-led organisation in the Highlands Region of Papua New Guinea. The organisation’s primary mission is to promote community ecotourism, wildlife protection, and management through conservation, education, research, and training. We also focus on supporting sustainable community livelihood development in the Mauberema community.
In 2022, MENCERTC achieved significant recognition. We received the Global UNPD Equator Prize for our outstanding contributions to conservation, socioeconomic development, and sustainable livelihood in a megadiverse developing nation. Additionally, we received 2022 The Society for Conservation Biology Oceania Regional Distinguished Community Service Award, further acknowledging our exceptional success in these areas. We were invited as part of the Global Indigenous community to attend the COP28 meeting in Dubai. We are a self-help community based organizations looking for partnership with any interested Environmental Organizations or Donor partners willing to support our Work.
