Thanks @Thirza Loffeld for putting @Elizabeth Stephenson on my radar!

Elizabeth, this resonated so deeply for me "“The majority world is home to talented conservationists who have historically been underrepresented due to colonialism, parachute science, and deep inequalities in the ability to get visas to travel to conferences.”

Equitable conservation policy is the focus of my consultancy, but I am also a newly appointed Advisory Board Member for 10% For the Ocean, a UK-based charity aiming to increase ocean conservation philanthropy and direct it specifically to locally focused, smaller organizations doing ocean conservation work. I'm going to invite the Program Director to WildHub shortly, but there are upcoming consultation sessions for potential grantees to provide feedback on the org's new strategy and grant application. I think it's a great model. Would you please pass on to the small local organizations in your network? Announcement here (the website is getting revamped, so I'm linking to the LI page):

Thanks for connecting us, @Thirza Loffeld! It's so nice to meet you, @Elizabeth Silleck La Rue, Esq., and learn about the important work you are doing on equity. Thank you for your kind words and for sharing the 10% for the Ocean opportunity. I shared it on LinkedIn and will pass it along to the project leaders and fellows we work with. I agree that pursuing a participatory approach is a great model!

Hi James,

Thanks for sharing your work with the St. Helena National Trust. I will be sure to follow your posts as well to learn more!

As far as plastics and case studies, I am guessing that The Ocean Conservancy has a large focus on marine debris.

Take care and let's stay in touch!
