How did you find the process of recording risks and issues?
I found the process structured and useful. Normally I think about risks and issues informally, but writing them down in a systematic way (with cause, effect, probability, etc.) made me realise how much clearer it becomes to prioritise them. It was not difficult to think of examples once I linked them to real situations in my projects.
Did you record any risks or issues that were not included in the 'Answers' tab?
Yes, I recorded an issue related to funding delays that postponed my fieldwork schedule. It wasnât in the example answers, but it reflects a very common challenge in academic and conservation projects.
Think back to a time when lots of things were happening and you had no processes in place to manage them. How would you apply what youâve learned so far in the training course to handle a similar situation next time?
In past projects, I managed problems reactively, which led to stress and sometimes missed deadlines. Next time, I would log risks and issues early, categorise them, and decide on a response strategy (accept, reduce, avoid, transfer). This way I can communicate more clearly with my team and supervisor, and avoid last-minute surprises.

How did you find the process of recording risks and issues?
I sometimes struggle to distinguish between risks and issues, so having multiple opportunities to practice has been very helpful. After a few exercises, it became easier to understand the difference, and now coming up with examples feels much more natural.

Yes. I identified the risk of negative public perception and potential safety concerns caused by the aggressive behavior of Cornish camels toward tourists, which could threaten the success of the conservation program.
How would you apply what youâve learned so far in the training course to handle a similar situation next time?
Next time, I will carefully analyze the situation and consider its short-, medium-, and long-term impacts. This will help me define clear actions and mitigation measures, ensuring a proactive response that addresses both immediate needs and future prevention.

Yes I did, my situations was related to the possibility of people creating bad chat about the experience they had in the first scenario.Â

No, but adding to the retaliation I thought the additional complexity of a formal complaint might be a possibility aswell as affecting the support and retaliation for Cornish camelsÂ

I've had a accident form/document before which is after something unexpected has happened, and risk assessment but I find this way much better as it mitigates the risk earlierÂ

I found it clear and well-structured. it isn't something I already do but the process helped me understand how to think through different situations.

Yes, I recorded two examples: the risk of wildfires forcing animals out of Yellowstone, and the issue of feline distemper spreading in a sanctuary.

In the past, Iâve worked without clear processes. I focused on immediate tasks but didnât always see the bigger picture, which made things feel disorganized.
I would use the process of identifying and recording risks and issues early on to get a clearer overview. This would help me prioritize tasks, plan better, and communicate more effectively with the team, reducing confusion and improving results.

1. This was straight forward. Risk management is something I've done for years in the form of very similar RAID logs for projects (RAID = Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Decisions) that also use likelihood and impact to score each item.
2. I recorded a risk around losing public support for the project.
3. Not having a process in place means risks and issues are not addressed until they materialised (risks) or become more impactful (issues). This can also happen with the risks and issues that were so diligently recorded during project planning are not actively managed once a project is underway.
