Attending this training has definitely opened up new ways of thinking for me. One opportunity I see is to integrate structured project management tools (like risks/issues/opportunity trackers) into my current and future conservation research projects. This could make them more professional and credible when applying for funding or building partnerships. I also realised that these skills could support me beyond my PhD—such as in consulting roles with conservation NGOs or even developing my own small initiative in the future. Before, I hadn’t considered myself equipped for that, but now I can see a pathway. Most importantly, I gained insights into how systematic approaches to risks, issues, and lessons learned can save time and stress. That feels like a small change, but it could have a big impact on both my career and the projects I lead.

This training has given me the confidence and a basic foundation to apply for a Masters in Conservation which I have always wanted to do but having studied History before felt like my expertise were in a completely different area.  I am also going to try and apply for funding for my masters which I would never have considered before.
