Thought I, too, would say hello to everyone starting out on this course, and look forward to getting to know everyone over the next few weeks. 

I am a student studying Charity Development at the University of Chichester, UK. As of yet I am still relatively inexperienced in the field of conservation. However, I am excited to learn more about the kind of roles that I can aspire to, following my graduation this may. 

Throughout my degree I've been quite keen to gain professional work experience alongside the theoretical study, which has allowed me most recently to work with Charites such as Renewable World, designing a fundraising strategy and implementing renewable energy to 'power people out of poverty.' 

From this I have decided that I'd like to work in conservation, and have been an environmentalist from a young age. 

What I hope to gain from this course: 

1. I care about the environment, and feel this course will help me maximise impact of strategies I implement throughout my career. 

2. I want to learn more about conservation, meet people who are working in the field and better my understanding and appreciation for the work that is being done. 

3. This course will provide the opportunity for me to feel confident going into the workplace that having had this additional training. I hope this will mean that decisions made are more accurate and will have the best impact for the charities I work with.
