Just a quick hello here to introduce myself. I'm the Director of Plateau Perspectives, an international NGO that supports community-led conservation and sustainable development in the mountains of Central Asia. While I have previously lived for ~18 years in the Tibetan plateau region in western China and then ~6 years in Kyrgyzstan, I am now based in the Scottish Highlands - travelling out from here, when and as needed. I have field experience as conservation biologist as well as development practitioner; occasionally serve as consultant with IUCN, UNDP and other groups; and currently am an Honorary Research Associate in the School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford.

Work interests revolve around protected and conserved areas, partnering with local and Indigenous people, advancing several projects under my non-profit organisation, and writing a university textbook...
