Jonathan is an early career academic from Nigeria with 8 years teaching & research experience.  He has published several journal articles & conference presentations. He has also taught courses ranging from wildlife ecology,  conservation,  management and ecotourism at undergraduate level. Prior to joining academia,  he was a conservation education officer in a zoo. He is a recipient of several awards including PTDF PhD scholarship award & PASET-RSIF PhD scholarship award.  Currently, he is a pre-PhD intern in the Animal-Environment interactions lab of the Max-Planck Institute of Animal Behavior, Germany working on Vultures in Drylands project.  

I am Additional Commissioner from Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) with vast experience of law enforcement especially in tackling transnational smuggling  including willdife trafficking. Also, as an expert I have been conducting sessions on various aspects of wildlife crimes and its convergence with other serious crimes, legal and enforcement framework to counter it, wildlife cyber crime, OSINT for combating wildlife crime, combating money laundering associated with wildlife crime, CITES, role of Customs in tackling the menace of wildlife crime, Digital Forensics etc. for forest, police, customs and other enforcement agencies' officials. I have also been invited as an expert by UNODC ROSA to train the law enforcement officials of Sri Lanka on combating wildlife cyber crimes.

I'm currently a PhD student in Geography and the Transdisciplinary Research on Environment and Society. My research is focused on the governance of landscape restoration in Africa. I am a biologist and work as a mammals expert and project manager (interested more in large carnivores research and conservation, such as brown bear, wolf, and Balkan lynx) at PPNEA NGO, in Albania. I have experience in monitoring and researching endangered species such as the Balkan lynx. Since 2015, I am coordinating the Balkan Lynx Recovery Programme in Albania. Also, in 2021,  I completed the MAVA Leaders for Nature Academy.

I am a biodiversity conservationist from Cameroon. I recently completed a Professional MSc in Biodiversity Conservation and Management from the University of Bamenda, Cameroon and I am currently pursuing a Conversion MSc in Wildlife Resource Management in the same University. I have been serving as a volunteer for Apiculture and Nature Conservation Organization where we engage communities around protected areas in the North West Region of Cameroon in alternative livelihood activities in order to reduce stress on biodiversity. With the ongoing socio-political conflict in Cameroon’s North West and South West Regions, it has made conservation activities in these regions difficult as forest reserves are now used as hideouts for the non-state armed groups (NSAGs) whose activities are posing threats to biodiversity in these areas. With this setback, I have been working as an independent researcher in Cameroon’s Eastern Region precisely in the Nki National Park which is considered as the “last true wilderness” in Cameroon with lots of biodiversity. My studies have concentrated on forest elephants: its dung decay rate, population status, feeding pattern, anthropogenic disturbances. Human-Elephant conflict is very prevalent in this park which warrants mitigation.

Hi there, I'm Bex, a freelance content marketer soon to finish my Master's in Conservation. I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in marketing, but hope to transfer over to project management and development in a conservation context. I'm currently working on a project around UK biodiversity renewal, volunteering for Cornwall Wildlife Trust, and working for a few charities on their communications pro bono. I'm a researcher and teacher at the University of Calabar, Nigeria where I teach modules in Ecology and Botany. Seven years and counting on the fantastic journey of academia where I guide and mentor young people to become better than I am. My research is focused on the role of tropical forests (rainforests and mangroves) and agroecosystems in climate change mitigation through carbon sequestration.

Hello!  I have worked in natural resource management and environmental education for several years.  In 2022 I moved from Washington State to southern Belize and joined Toledo Institute for Development and Environment (TIDE) to complete a number of capacity buidling projects and an impact assessment of TIDE's high school scholarship program (big impact!).  Along the way, I assisted with grant writing for both organizational sustainability and scientific research grants.  I completed the contract with TIDE and am now working as a consultant for Empowering Climate Solutions, based in southern Belize.  As a natural resources professional I think every day about the impacts of climate change on everything (!) and as an educator, my goal is always to empower others to take command of their future.  I love diving and baby turtles, and when I'm not working I enjoy walks with our dog, yoga, and cooking. I work for Conservation Nation we are a new non-profit that relaunched in late 2021 after a long, prior history of being Friends of the National Zoo in Washington, DC. I head up the marketing and communications along with running the grants program. Our focus is helping to make the conservation field accessible to a broader group of people and amplify those voices through our grants, education and outreach programs. My background is in program management, marketing and communications but my passion has always been in conservation and I've had the opportunity to volunteer for several conservation organizations.
