I have been a biology teacher for the past eight years and I am transitioning from teaching to the Ecology and Conservation field. 

Where is restoration taking place around the world, and how is it being tracked? Greetings, I'm Ussi Abuu, a prominent Conservation Catalyst within the WildHub community, stationed in the beautiful landscapes of Zanzibar, Tanzania. I proudly serve as the INDUSTRY 5.0 Ambassador in Tanzania, advocating for sustainable industrial practices, and I also hold the role of Tanzania Coordinator at the Global Sustainable Future Progress through Partnership network. My journey towards environmental and social progress has been rich and diverse. I previously contributed to the Tanzania Development Trust as a mapper, utilizing geographical data to support development initiatives. Additionally, my commitment to global betterment led me to join the United Nations Volunteers program in 2016, where I've continued to make a meaningful impact. Together, we can explore the vast realm of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how they intertwine with my experiences and endeavors. I am a marine biology graduate with an MSc in conservation from Plymouth Uni. I use to be the assistant community manager of WildHub and. have a passion for science communication and bringing people together. 🦇 In my spare time I have a blog as well as a Redbubble shop where I sell my artwork. I am a recent graduate from the Wildlife Research and Training Institute, with a passion for conservation and a diverse set of skills honed through hands-on experience.  During my attachment program at Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park and my volunteer work with Reefolution Trust, I have gained invaluable expertise in:  Coral Restoration: Engaging in coral planting, nursery maintenance, and out-planting to rejuvenate marine ecosystems. Marine Debris Cleanups: Organizing and participating in cleanups to protect our oceans. Community Engagement: Facilitating group discussions and outreach programs to foster local involvement in conservation efforts. Data Collection and Entry: Gathering and managing data crucial for research and conservation projects. Human-Wildlife Conflict Resolution: Developing strategies to mitigate conflicts between humans and wildlife.  My interests are deeply rooted in:  Wildlife Protection: Advocating for and implementing measures to safeguard endangered species. Environmental Education: Sharing knowledge and raising awareness through my Twitter (X) page. Habitat Restoration: Participating in projects aimed at restoring damaged ecosystems. Community Engagement: Collaborating with local communities to develop sustainable conservation strategies. Policy and Advocacy: Working on policies to support and enhance conservation efforts.  While I currently possess a broad range of skills, I am eager to specialize further and make a significant impact in the conservation community. I have a lifelong fascination and love for all things zoological which began at an early age, as I grew up on a "diet" of nature and wildlife documentaries from Animal Planet, National Geographic, The Discovery Channel, and more. My most recent work experience has mostly been within laboratory animal husbandry. My true passion, however, has been within the realm of wildlife conservation, and after a series of short-lived jobs within laboratory work, I decided to close that door, and finally pursue my "true calling". Ideally, I am looking for a full-time job which may utilize writing or photography to promote the conservation of wildlife worldwide. The aspects of wildlife conservation I am most passionate about are the protection of biodiversity, and endangered/threatened species, education and public outreach, and human-wildlife conflict. I have a B.S. degree in Zoology, and an M.S. in Environmental Studies (concentration: Conservation Biology). Over the course of my studies, I have gained experience in performing and analyzing field research.  Among the skills I have developed are Microsoft Office and the programming language R. I also participated in a study abroad in southern Africa, taking part in field work involving species abundance and diversity. As a requirement of my M.S. degree, I completed a thesis in which I explored the impact of realistic coyote models and samples of coyote urine on deer behavior as a means to decrease their browsing in residential areas.  Currently, I am a volunteer Writer for the New England Primate Conservancy. All-in-all, I am leveraging experience in technical/scientific/creative writing, project management, data collection, and wildlife photography. I am extremely responsible, organized, creative, and a hard-working individual who loves learning new skills. My photography has also been credited by organizations such as The Nature Conservancy, the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute, and Zoo New England. I am a veterinarian by background, with a Masters in Conservation Medicine and now working in conservation and research. I currently work in wild koala population management in south-east Queensland, Australia and have experience coordinating projects. I have become increasingly interested in the implications of our conservation efforts on  human communities, particularly women and other marginalised groups within them. I would love to learn more about managing conservation projects, particularly in a way that prioritises the integration of equity and diversity. 

I am environmental science graduate with double masters degree in Sociology/anthropology. I have been working as wildlife researcher as a freelancer as well as full time job since my graduation. I have intensive field research experiences as well as some experiences working in Zoo. My expertise is mammals specially red panda as well as birds. I'm Liane, and I am a WildLearning Specialist at WildTeam! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all! For the last few years, I've been working in Seychelles, focusing on island and marine conservation efforts, particularly coral restoration and turtle nesting monitoring. If you ask me questions about coral, be prepared for me to get very nerdy about it! Prior to that, I was managing a project in Northern Thailand, where I worked closely with a local community to set up ethical elephant experiences in their village. In my free time, I love running and hiking, and being anywhere in nature. I have also learnt to freedive in the last few years and enjoy doing that when possible. I'm really interested in talking to different people and learning from them and their unique experiences.

Hello! I'm Léa and I'm a WildLearning Specialist with WildTeam UK. I help create, design and deliver training courses. I love getting to know all the participants and learning from them :) Previously, I was working with BirdLife International on forest governance issues and in my previous life I worked in the development sector in the United States. Education-wise, I have studied economic development, international relations as well as tropical forestry in the past.  Hope to catch you in a WildHub social!

I am a Zoo and Wildlife Veterinarian currently working at Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital in Northern NSW, Australia. We are a NFP organisation providing free veterinary care to sick and injured wildlife in our area. We work closely with wildlife care groups and other wildlife veterinary organisations within our area to provide positive welfare outcomes for wildlife. Our aim is to rehabilitate as many animals back into the wild as possible. We have been running for 3 years and it's my hope in the future that we will work with other stakeholders on conservation projects in situ for threatened species. When I am not working I love volunteering for conservation organisations overseas. I have spent time working for the Gili Islands Eco Trust, Bornean Orangutan Survival Foundation and I am just about to go back to Borneo to do some dental work on Orangutans for Orangutan Foundation International.

Hi wild team my name is Cyprian Chisi, and I am excited to join this vibrant network of conservation professionals. I have just completed my BSc degree in Natural Resource Management (Wildlife & Ecotourism), from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, i also hold a Diploma in Environmental Management. i specialised in wildlife management, GIS and Remote sensing, Research,Biodiversity conservation, ornithology, ecosystem managment, watershed and wetland management, eco tourism planing, environmental education, population ecology and sustainable land mangement. I expect to connect with experts, professionals and mentors here at WildHub and this will help me to find more opportunities in conservation journey like partnerships, funding, scholarships, learning, internships and leadership development as well as job opportunities.  

Since July 2025, I have been serving as the Community Advocates Coordinator at WildHub, where I coordinate initiatives to engage, support, and empower our community advocates in advancing WH’s mission. Beyond WildHub, I wear a few different hats. I work as a researcher and lecturer in Sweden, teaching courses on environmental law, political and historical ecology, and disaster risk management. I also mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students, collaborate with faculty members, and contribute to ongoing research projects. I’m passionate about giving back through volunteer work. I support a few conservation and animal welfare organisations with research and advocacy to help drive positive change. When I’m not working, you’ll find me hiking forest trails with my dog or enjoying a good cup of coffee.
