Vipin Kumar

Site Supervisor, Auroville Botanical Services

I am an ecologist working in the field of biodiversity conservation and ecological restoration. My work involves planning and supervising restoration interventions across diverse ecosystems, including forests, grasslands, wetlands, savannas, and reed beds. I focus on site-based approaches such as invasive species removal, soil and vegetation monitoring, and implementing ecotype-specific planting strategies. My academic and field experience spans a range of ecological themes, including ecotoxicology, soil ecology, water quality, plant invasion, plant metabolites, and palynology. I’m particularly interested in understanding how these components influence ecosystem recovery and using that knowledge to guide practical, context-driven restoration efforts. Currently, I am engaged in a large-scale ecological restoration project with Auroville Botanical Services in Pune, India, where I’m closely involved in site execution and ecological supervision.

My name is Fidèle KASANGANDJO MWAGALWA, a Congolese national, passionate about environmental conservation and the sustainable management of natural resources. I am an experienced and committed environmental analyst with over five years of experience in ecological monitoring and anti-poaching operations across Africa. Over the course of my career, I have developed strong expertise in analyzing ecological dynamics and using advanced tools such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing technologies. 💼 Most recently, I served as an Environmental Monitoring Analyst at African Parks Congo, where I played a key role in producing strategic reports to guide ranger patrol operations. I also conducted operational analyses to assess the impacts of human activities on biodiversity, supervised aerial surveillance missions, and studied poaching trends—contributing to the preservation of wildlife in Garamba National Park. 🔍 Previously, I worked as a researcher at the Congo Basin Water Resources Research Center, where I led projects focused on water resource analysis and hydrological modeling. My work provided strategic insights for the sustainable development of local territories. My ability to collect, process, and analyze complex data, combined with my skills in supervision and project management, enabled me to contribute to impactful initiatives such as projects related to the Climate-Water-Migration nexus. 🌱 Today, I am open to new opportunities and collaborations in environmental management, sustainable development, and natural resource analysis. I strongly believe that environmental protection requires an integrated and collaborative approach. I aspire to work with diverse stakeholders to promote long-term, sustainable solutions. 📩 Please feel free to reach out to discuss potential collaborations or to share experiences. Rezoana Arefine

Snake expert, Kundali Foundation

I am Arefine. I am an anchor & reciter. In between my studies in zoology, I am involved in extra curricular activities. I focus on field studies since my undergraduate studies. Field study alone and observing became my addiction. Photography was also added to this addiction. Although watching nature, observing animals is my passion, the thought of working on a specific subject did not come to my mind. After that, I started working at the marginal level with snakebite patients during the Corona period. Then I chose calligraphy as a means of awareness to reach people quickly. Although I did not give priority to online then, I later built my organization called Kundali Foundation. Under the banner of this organization, i started the work of conveying the message of awareness to people called 'Be Aware Of Snake'.   I was able to deliver my message to 495 upazilas of Bangladesh. The war is still going on because the fear of snakes has not died down among people.
