About our coach:
Tori has 12+ years' experience working for a range of not-for profits, including royal societies, a biomedical charity and conservation organisations.
She has experienced most of the highs and lows of working in conservation, including the difficulties in getting a conservation job. Tori quickly moved from a field position managing a fisheries data-collection project, to her most recent role, successfully managing multiple conservation teams across multiple time zones, plus a portfolio of 70+ grants for a medium-sized conservation organisation!
Through her work as an accredited Leadership Coach, Tori now supports other conservation professionals who struggle with some of the challenges that she experienced - imposter syndrome; transitioning to, and finding your feet in, a new role; avoiding burnout; and the struggles of maintaining a work-life balance when your work is your passion!
Tori will be sharing her experiences of conservation leadership and managing multi-cultural international teams. The workshop will be a blend of interactive tasks, resources, presentations and a Q&A. In particular she will cover:
- What makes a good leader?
- What skills are useful in conservation leadership?
- Tips on how to be a successful conservation leader
- Things she wishes someone had told her when she was starting out
