Introduction

Hi
Introduction
Like

Hi everyone,
Nice to be here.  I'm currently going for a career change, from self-employment in art and music to something in marine biology.  I'm currently working on a Marine Biology diploma and have begun voluntary work as and when I can.

I'm enjoying learning through various webinars, networking and my own research and hope I can learn more here with you.

As part of my studies I am also looking into R programming, GIS and data analysis as I do find that side of things very interesting.  Also planning on learning SCUBA diving too.  (I've done some snorkelling so would like to go further).  One thing I'd love to do at some point is plant some seagrass as part of a restoration project.  Much to learn but I'm getting there :)

I hope that I may be able to use some of my skills as an artist and musician as well, perhaps in raising awareness of conservation issues, education, event organisation etc...

I'm currently based near Worcester, UK so sadly I'm not as close to a coastline as I'd like to be but I am hoping to do some fieldwork when I can and, in the meantime, do whatever I can from here.

Anyway, looking forward to meeting you and being part of this community.

Chris :D

Hi Chris, a warm welcome to the WildHub community! Thanks for sharing about your background and ambitions in your introduction post so we all can get to know you a bit more. Our community's Key Creator, Lucy Tallents, is organising Free GIS refresher courses starting next week which may be of interest to you (see the link below). Best wishes, Thirza
