This survey is for anyone who works/aspires to work as a conservation planning consultant/facilitator.
Challenge: Demand for conservation planning consultants may increase rapidly as NGOs, businesses, and governments work towards achieving and reporting on measurable biodiversity, carbon, and social impacts. However, it is sometimes hard to generate enough business to support yourself and/or your team, and differentiate yourself from other consultants offering conservation planning support. It can also sometimes be difficult to set up clients so that they are able to implement the plans after you have finished work with them.
Solution: WildTeam (a UK charity) has created a project planning approach (link) that builds on the Conservation Standards. Using the WildTeam approach, a consultant would be able to help a client create any type of conservation/restoration plan or organisational strategy. WildTeam have also created additional, complementary approaches to help teams implement, manage, adapt, and report on their plans. These approaches are used by conservation professionals across the globe, including by staff from the likes of WCS, WWF, TNC, RSPB, and hundreds of local NGOs. We expect that consultants using the WildTeam approach would be able to create higher-quality plans, engage more clients, and more effectively empower the teams they work with to implement those plans.
The objective of this survey is to help assess demand and support needs for conservation planning consultants considering using the WildTeam planning approach with the teams that they support.
It should only take about 2 minutes to complete.
