Introducing myself

Hi, I’ve recently joined wildhub and while getting to grips with it, it’s been suggested I do an introduction post. So here I am!

I stumbled across wildhub while deep diving the internet for career development courses and advice. My dream is to work educating and communicating environmental issues on wildlife expeditions around the world. That’s well in the future so right now I’m a membership fundraiser for the RSPB. This job is what sparked the passion for getting people to care about conservation and the planet. I’m now looking for communications or educator roles to develop my relevant skills and build experience.
Meanwhile, I am studying MSc wildlife biology and conservation. Luckily, it’s a distance learning course with Edinburgh Napier so I get to carry on building my career while learning about what I love.
A lot of my time goes into my passion project, my Instagram account and blog @amyinthewild_ where I try to develop my communications skills by creating fun little educational posts, then write more in depth posts on my blog.
I’m still learning wildhub and if I’m completely honest I’m not sure how best to use it yet but if anybody has any tips and advice I’d love to hear it!

Hi Amy! A warm welcome to WildHub! Great to have you joining us! To learn more about how WildHub works and how you can benefit the most from joining our community, please have a look at the corresponding channel: https://wildhub.community/channels/how-wildhub-works

Another useful resource for you perhaps would be our Job opportunities room; if you click the "watch" button in this room's banner, you will be notified of new posts there by email. For example, our member Emily Gilford at the Mammal Society advertised there that they are hiring a Communication Officer (advert here), which may be of interest to you :)

Another way of increasing your professional network is by joining our Conservation catalyst programme (more information via this link: https://wildhub.community/posts/call-for-conservation-catalysts

Does this give you some advice on first steps?
