Hola a tod@s,
I am currently based (and stranded because of COVID 19) in Lima but my work on environment and climate change takes me all over the continent providing support at the policy level to national governments. However, my passion for conservation has taken me to the West African forests to study elephants and Wildhub seems to be a good place to share and learn from others experience since I have a debt with my research in Ghana that will be resolved once I finish a couple of publications.
I am not sure if I have a single best wildlife encounter as I have been lucky enough to be surprised by new world monkeys, tapirs, tayras, nasuas and pumas while doing field work in the Amazon, and of course by elephants in Ghana so I would say I have many best wildlife encounters.
Feel free to reach out if you think I can be of any help as I will probably knock on your door if I see any potential collaboration

Welcome to WildHub Gonzalo! It's great to have you join us from Lima and sorry to hear you are stranded. I hope you are finding ways to keep yourself energised in these difficult times. If you have any useful practices in terms of wellbeing and resilience, please feel free to share it with our community; we have dedicated a channel to this, please find the link below. Additionally, I look forward to learning more about your work, so any lessons learned that you would like to share with us are welcome. Another interest of some of our members is career development, so if you would like to share with us your reasons for starting working in conservation and your career path so far (with some lessons learned perhaps) - that would be amazing too! As you can read, we are a curious bunch and look forward to getting to know you better. Best wishes from rainy UK.
